This is a very, very unique property. The house sits
This is a very, very unique property. The house sits only a few feet off a very scenic stream, and there is a cliff on the opposite side of the stream that offers incredible privacy and tranquility. The hot tub sits between the house and the stream and is very private. The house itself is incredibly unique and has been well updated. The beds were very comfy and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking. At the house is literally less than five minutes from Bel-Air Mountain. We took a ride out to Plattekill Mountain, which was approximately 30 minutes away, and that was a very enjoyable mountain also. There’s great hiking all over the area. We hiked Slide mountain which is the tallest mountain in the Catskills and only 15 minutes from the house. It’s in a very small town that doesn’t have many restaurants, but there is a Handy convenience store just across the street and the town does have a small market. Very enjoyable stay!

The only downside was that the bunk bed sheets had noticeable stains, so we chose not to let the kids sleep on them.

This is a very, very unique property. The house sits only a few feet off a very scenic stream, and there is a cliff on the opposite side of the stream that offers incredible privacy and tranquility. The hot tub sits between the house and the stream and is very private. The house itself is incredibly unique and has been well updated. The beds were very comfy and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking. At the house is literally less than five minutes from Bel-Air Mountain. ACCURATE GUEST COUNT

The pictures are very accurate. The beds were so comfy and with the window open you could listen to the stream to lull you to sleep at night. Red Cottage was extremely responsive to our needs and kept us updated at all times. The home was open and spacious for our entire family.

Fantastic week with the family. The house exceeded my expectations frankly. We loved everything. Wonderful common areas and extremely comfortable beds. The wood burning stove nook was the highlight. Red Cottage pays attention and it shows. We will book this house again.

My family and I booked this home for a ski / Super Bowl weekend. The host was very responsive with booking, accommodating for our emotional support animals, and proactive with providing check in instructions.
The beds were comfortable and linens were very clean.
I was nervous about booking any Air-bnb with my mother, who is very particular with cleanliness. She was pleasantly surprised by how clean the kitchen and bathroom were!

We had a lovely stay. The house is clean and very organized. It is a little hard to find as it is behind the fire station but other than that awesome. It has a lot of original charm but with nice upgrades as well. Because the original structure is very old, the sound does travel. Adults laughing downstairs did keep the kids in the bunks up some. The bunks are in a communal space with no door (it says that in the listing, so we were aware). So just keep that in mind if you are traveling with another family and have a young child that you are planning to have in the bottom bunk. But great house over all.

Although steps away from the main road of town, it felt like a private getaway. We especially enjoyed the large deck overlooking a lovely brook. The host clearly put a lot of thought into what things would make guests feel at home such as a well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of linens, towels and toiletries. Also, when we needed something replenished, Minerva from Red Cottage's management took care of it in an attentive and considerate manner.

Quick Getaway
We were in the area for some family business and took two other couples with us for a quick getaway from Florida and North Carolina. The lodge is as advertised, and then some. The scenery is beautiful, it's very quiet and private yet close enough to walk to Sam's across the street and into town. The amenities are great, especially for those who enjoy cooking (that central dining table is awesome for larger groups like ours). Rated five stars because six wasn't an option. Would definitely do it again.

Our stay was out of this world here! Nestled by a river lies this serene spot. The kitchen amenities are incredible also and this was truly a home away from home. The wood burning fire created super cozy ambiance as well. I slept in the room with the skylight and it was beyond comfortable! This place was exactly what my friends and I needed! Tucked away in the Catskill mountains but not too far from a town with everything you need. The house itself was absolutely beautiful. The beds were comfy, every room in the house was cozy, and we really felt right at home as soon as we stepped in the door. The Sonos sound system throughout the house was impeccable and my friends and I really enjoyed it. The hot tub was hot and ready to go. All the instructions were clear and we were left with a digital (and hardcopy) guidebook with all the local restaurants, bars, and shops in the area. There were 5 of us in total who stayed at the house. We cooked meals together and drank wine by the wood burning stove. The kitchen was extremely well-equipped for our needs. We tend to go "all out" with our family-style meals when we book getaways like this and the kitchen was a big hit. I would recommend this place to anyone! It was just lovely. We didn't want to leave!

This is by far the nicest place I’ve ever stayed at in the Catskills! The house itself was beautiful with such thoughtful touches throughout — I feel like the pictures don’t even do it justice. You’ll find everything you could possibly need (and more) in the kitchen and the bedrooms were just so cozy. There were so many lovely recommendations in the house manual and although the town itself is small, it’s still close to a few restaurants, breweries, and slopes. I’m already planning my next stay here!

Extremely responsive/ communicative host, and lots of space and activities to do in the house. The shared space had a nice aesthetic and more homey than many managed rentals. Definitely the most equipped kitchen I've ever seen in an airbnb- it felt like a thoughtful setup for several people planning to really spend time in the space. Loved the deck area and hot tub- so many spaces for hanging out. The rooms are great- perfect for 3 couples plus kids since the 4th bedroom is somewhat public, but has privacy curtains.

We had a great time at Red Cottage. The hosts are welcoming and communicative, and the cottage itself is beautiful and cozy at the same time. There was more than enough room for eight of us to comfortably use the living spaces. We also loved being close to great hikes. Like another reviewer noted, sound can carry, but we were able to have conversations and play games downstairs while others were sleeping upstairs without a problem.

We had an absolutely beautiful weekend just like we hoped to have ! The house was beautiful and clean packed with good energy and eclectic decor ! Fully loaded kitchen, everything in the house was so perfect and well organized! Stunning nature while sitting on the balcony overlooking the creek while relaxing. The hot tub was a perfect relaxing spot too. Our host was super helpful with every little detail we asked for and we couldn’t Hope for a better place to spend with the family this weekend:) will definitely make this place our new favorite spot!
