No smoking is permitted inside the house. If you must smoke, please do so outside and dispose of butts properly. Any violation of this policy is subject to a $500 fee.
EXCESSIVE CLEANING FEES
We kindly ask that guests treat the home with care and respect. Should the property require cleaning beyond the standard turnover—due to excessive mess or incidents involving bodily fluids such as blood, vomit, or waste—a $500 fee may apply. Any linens or furnishings damaged beyond repair will also be subject to replacement charges. These situations are considered outside the scope of routine housekeeping and require specialized attention to ensure the safety and well-being of our team.
ACCURATE GUEST COUNT
The number of guests must be accurately disclosed at the time of booking. While we don’t charge extra for additional guests up to the home’s maximum occupancy, this information is essential so we can properly prepare and stock the home. Please note that penalties may apply if guest counts are inaccurate or intentionally misrepresented.

Outside staff such as private chefs, massage therapists, or other service providers are welcome, but prior approval is required before they come on-site.

My drive up to the house from CT involves 4 roads. Yet somehow, I passed enough covered bridges (4) and perfect white churches framed by mountains (352, est.) that it all felt like a set up.
It wasn't. Great location, beautiful, comfortable, private home. Plenty of amenities for downtime, probably the best 1-2 punch of shower/tub combinations I've ever had at a hotel/rental/airbnb (important to me). Chris & Lauren add a personal touch to everything here, and their care really shines. We loved our stay and look forward to returning!

What a privilege to stay in this amazing architectural structure and scenic spot. Lauren and Chris are wonderful hosts who won’t disappoint. Great location, accessible to so much. The tiny town of Jamaica is a magical place. Visiting the North Country General is a must. We will be back. For sure.

This home is a gem! It’s modern and stylish with all details cared for. The space felt expansive with 3 floors, high ceilings and a large open kitchen. Lots of little extras (like body wash and soap, a cabinet stocked with games, all the kitchen items you could need and awesome ceiling fans) simply enhanced this beautiful property. Checking in and out was so simple with hosts who clearly communicated and ensured we knew just what to or where to get help if we needed it.

We stayed for a few days during our April break and had a nice relaxing time. The area was quiet and the host had a ton of great recommendations in their guidebook for things to/places to eat, but a lot were closed for the off-season/the days we were there, even in nearby Manchester (that's on us, certainly no fault of the host's just something to consider when timing your stay). The house had a unique vibe that our kids especially were thrilled with – as Star Wars fans, they referred to it as the Sand Crawler House. The stream directly across the street provided a fun and peaceful attraction and the trails in nearby Jamaica State Park were beautiful as well. The home was as described, stocked with board games and puzzles, etc., and the EV charger was a nice bonus for our plug-in hybrid SUV.

Lovely lovely modern home in green mountain area. We enjoyed our time off hanging out around the home and across the road at the river. The small details were definitely deeply appreciated aside from being in a very lovely space. Highly recommend for folks who want to disconnect and be among the trees.

Our stay at the Green Mountain Modern House was fantastic. Everything was so easy and we had ZERO hiccups. From getting confirmed for our stay, to the detailed check in instructions. From the great nights of sleep we got due to cozy beds and pillow variety choices and even the fan, to the relaxation credited to the spa like amenities. Every detail made our stay so comfortable we almost didn’t want to leave! Thank you Chris and Lauren for being such amazing hosts!

What a great time we had at the Green Mountain
What a great time we had at the Green Mountain Modern House. We took advantage of the top notch kitchen appliances and made dinner each night. The big windows are just absolutely stunning. The river alongside was so loud at night, which is something I absolutely loved about this place. We came from NYC and hit a bunch of nearby towns around the area of Jamaica to allow us to experience the "VT lifestyle". It was refreshing to say the least. We checked out the fire tower in Molly Stark State Park, and as you drive along RT 9 you pass Hogback Mountain which had nice views. We then headed into Brattleboro town, where we spent a good amount of time in The Grafton Cheese Shop. YUM. We heard about Madame Sherri's Forest in Hinsdale NH and checked out the ruins there. Really neat. On our way to check in to The Green Mountain Modern House we also stopped along route in Townshend, VT to check out the Dam and Scott Bridge. What I mean here (lol) is that the location is great; there is plenty to do nearby. Very close to Stratton Mt as stated. Worth the 4 hour drive from NY for sure. Will be staying again!

We had such a great time in your home, in your yard, and in the area. It far exceeded our expectations. The yard was great for spending time outside relaxing, picking raspberries for breakfast, and playing fetch with our dog. There was no need unmet in the home it was beautiful, welcoming, and comfortable. As for Jamaica,VT. it was exactly what we wanted - close enough to do stuff but no so close stuff was coming to us. Thanks again for our stay at the Green Mountain Modern House.

This place is just LOVELY. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and most definitely plan to return. We were worried about the house being on a double-lined road but it was not a problem at all - very little traffic on that street. We really enjoyed heading 2.5 miles up the road to the falls - this is a MUST DO!

Our favorite AirBnB, family of 4 with 2 boys (11 and 13). With the brook steps away, there was always something to do. We spent hours swimming in the brook and rock hounding. Fighter jets did tricks overhead in the morning, it was such a treat, we couldn't believe it! And we were even able to see some of the Perseids meteor shower on the one clear night we had. Magical! We hiked the Lowell Lake State Park pond trail, great hike with a cool Revolutionary War cemetery. Mountain biking at Stratton was SO MUCH FUN! The house was beautiful and zen. Didn't think we would use sauna in August, but it was perfect after swimming. The downstairs bedroom had some cobwebs I cleaned off the ceiling. I don't think people always sleep there, maybe cleaners skip it? Otherwise, in pristine condition. Awesome fire pit, stocked with wood. Awesome game room (poker, retro nintendo, bumper pool). Bring olive oil for cooking, but fully stocked kitchen. It is on a road, cars do pass, about 4 an hour. Love love

We really enjoyed our stay. It's a beautiful property and setting. The kitchen/ living room setup in particular is great for relaxed socializing and cooking. We had a fire pit one night when temps were in the low 50s- perfect! The area is quiet and feels remote but there are some really nice hikes with views in the area. We rented kayaks and went out on Gale Meadow Pond which was beautiful. Highly recommend!

Lovely, modern, well-furnished house that’s dog-friendly and very close to Mount Stratton! We truly enjoyed our week there in August 2018. Host very responsive. The only wrinkle was the air conditioning: there were two portable units only, noisy, not very effective give the open space, and one of the units was leaking while operating. But we would happily stay again.

Chris and Lauren have put a lot of time and energy into this house and it shows. The house is amazing, spacious, and the entire environment inside and outside are thoughtfully designed for a relaxing stay. During our stay, we encountered several problems regarding the house appliances, Chris and Lauren were super responsive and helped us at every turn. The location of this house is incredible, it is super close to many hikes and waterfalls as listed in the hosts’ guidebook. We had a relaxing and wonderful stay here and can’t wait to visit again!

Lauren and Chris have a gorgeous spot right on the
Lauren and Chris have a gorgeous spot right on the river and moments away from hiking, swimming and general Vermont perfection. Jamaica, about 4 minutes away, has a cute little store for all basic food and amenity needs. The house is stunning, clean and stylish- fun games and darts in the house, great movie watching zones and perfect common space to cook, eat and hang out in. I’ll defintiely be returning as soon as I can.

Amazing house with delicious Vermont air and the stars above are magic. Great open space to host your entire family and inspired us to cook great meals. Outside fires were a great way to engage teens. The babbling brook was everything you need to rest and the road is very quiet. There are a few things that need attention to the home as I’m sure this naturally happens with a successful rental. Not enough to enjoy less nevertheless. Thank you! We will be back!

The house was a perfect home base for a quiet and active week in beautiful Vermont. Space was ideal and immaculate. Well equipped kitchen provided us with the flexibility to cook certain nights as well. Back deck was a great place to read in the morning and take in the beautiful Vermont air. The Green Mountain Modern House is an extraordinary find. We've stayed there twice this summer, and it was amazing both times. the house design is impeccable, from the lovely mid-century furnishing to the thoughtful flowers. And the location is just magical- between the forest and the river bed, my kid spent all of their time exploring outside. Truly wonderful holiday!

This was our second time staying at a Wildwood Collective rental in Jamaica, VT. We stumbled on the area and love it so much! This wildwood modern cabin has their consistent touch; fully stocked, thoughtful decorated and perfectly turn key. The hosts are wonderful and communicate so quickly. The house is across the street from a lovely river that’s easily accessible and fun to explore. The town of Jamaica is small, but charming with lots of restaurants, hiking, skiing close by. We can’t wait to come back again next summer!

We loved our stay. The feeling of openness and light that come from this modern style home made it feel really special. It's a great combination of all the modern conveniences (including StarLink internet!) and being able to really connect with the natural surroundings. Stratton Mountain is just a few minutes down the road with either great hiking and downhill mountain biking in the summer or skiing in the winter. Highly recommend!

The stream across the street is great for kids adventure and the falls a short drive away is great for recreation. Games for kids, bowls for the dog, everything you need. can't wait to go back.

We had a great stay - this location is ideal for hiking and the river was lovely and our dogs absolutely loved the opportunity to swim. Finding a dog friendly air bnb is always a big bonus and our pups loved the yard, hanging with us by the firepit and being able to come with us on our hiking adventures. The main and upper floors of the cabin are beautiful and we enjoyed the openness of the space and spent time reading and playing games on a rainy morning. We did not use the basement rooms but could see them being useful as a kid space for anyone coming with a family.

The house featured a lot of comfortable spaces for us to spend time in, and a nice porch and fire pit to enjoy the outdoors. The property is adjacent to a river and the views are excellent. We had a lovely stay, and our hosts provided us great recommendations and were responsive. Lots to do in the area!

An idyllic property for a respite from the world. We were wowed when we entered, and loved the height, the light and spaciousness, the design and materials used. We enjoyed walking along the creek, the barbecue, sitting on the back lawn reading, enjoying films at night, daytrips to nearby ponds for a swim and a hike, venturing in to more populated areas for shopping (Woodstock, Bennington and Brattleboro). The downstairs bedroom is less appealing and needs some attention. Since we were 5 friends, sharing the costs. I resolved the issue by charging less to the couple in that space. Other than that, the property was a total pleasure. Highly recommended.

Book it! The house is as it appears: well-designed, roomy, clean. It’s across a quiet street from a babbling brook. No calming water sound app needed here; the brook is a perfect soundtrack. It was a perfect spot for our family of four- two parents, a 20-year-old and a 16-year old. Communication with the owners was super.

Great weekend getaway: conveniently located by Stratton and hosts were super responsive/ easy to connect with (they also gave an amazing list of things to do in the area). Fire pit and well equipped kitchen were our favorite parts of the house - we used them every day! Our dogs absolutely loved the backyard. I would warn that there are a ton of bugs if you decide to go in the summer. Many swarm into the house if you open up doors/windows at night. The twin room gets pretty hot (no AC in this room), especially if you keep the window closed to keep bugs out. Theres a camera inside the house facing the front door. All in all, our trip was amazing and the house itself is beautiful. We'd absolutely go back!

This place is a perfect getaway to the woods and mountains. So close by to great hikes and ski mountains, and awesome for star-gazing. We stayed in December, but I'd love to go back in the summer as well. Lauren and Chris were amazing hosts helping to answer any questions very quickly and the place has all the amenities you could ever need. I absolutely recommend staying here!

We were a group of 6 and 2 dogs. Green Mountain Modern House was very spacious, clean, and accommodating! The home was beautiful and clean (we love the no shoe policy). The home was equipped with everything we needed and more! We only stayed for a weekend, but wished we stayed for a little bit longer. Even though it was winter, we made use of the outdoor firepit (huge fan!) and the pups absolutely loved the snow filled yard.
The sauna came in so clutch after a day on the slopes. We would love to come back again in the future.

This was our third time staying at the Green Mountain Modern House, and we love it more every time we go! It was so magical being there during a huge snow storm. My kids had hours of fun playing in the yard and roasting marshmallows, looking for meteor showers. The house was as pristine as ever. Every detail is wonderful, and we couldn't ask for a more comfortable place to spend a few days. Going to make our next reservation now!

Green Mountain Modern House was a great spot to stay. It's a really unique house (the photos are spot on!) in a beautiful spot by a river. It's very secluded, but still close enough to Stratton and other ski resorts in the area. Loved the modern vibe attended to by the owners throughout the entire experience, from the listing on Airbnb to the stationary and coasters in the house. We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful wood stove and sauna, especially after spending the day cross country skiing at the nearby Viking Nordic Center. The heated floors were appreciated by us and our pups, and the bed is super comfortable. The kitchen was supplied well and provided everything we needed. Unfortunately our stay was too short, but would definitely stay here again, and for a longer time.

We enjoyed a pre Christmas getaway here and couldn't have been happier with the location, the home, and how easy everything is. The house is very thoughtfully appointed and easy to make yourself at home. The house is immaculate and the kitchen has all the basics and more. The location is perfect. Secluded and peaceful, with the river rushing by, but a very easy/pretty drive to all the resort amenities of Stratton. We had a great time and would highly recommend this home to others. We hope to return again!

The house and experience was very consistent with what most of the reviewers have previously written. The location is very bucolic and peaceful while the house is very modern and updated. Lots of nice little features throughout the house including: a small sauna, heated floors and a proper card table. While the skiing was limited by the lack of natural snow, it was nice enough to visit some of the nearby towns like Brattleboro and Manchester and just relax. Great place to stay with friends or family. I would definitely come back in the springtime as well as the winter.

This is a remarkable and unique house set in a gorgeous setting in the Green Mountains. There are plenty of amenities nearby but the real beauty is that you can disconnect here and marvel in the quiet (except for the incredible brook!) and peace. It's simply and stylishly decorated, well provisioned and has everything you need to be comfortable and relaxed - and to disconnect and spend time outdoors. This was great get away for our family of four!

The location was great and the layout worked perfectly for our family! My two nephews especially loved the downstairs area. Despite the weather, the roads were well plowed making it easy to get around and the host was extremely responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it! 10/10 experience.

This was a great place to retreat to with friends and ring in the New Year together. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, plates, glasses and cutlery and we enjoyed making meals for the group. There was plenty of cabinet and counter space to bring food and snacks.

Call dibs on the bedroom in the basement - it was amazing and so cozy! It was also very quiet. The upstairs bedrooms are open and if anyone is in the living room or kitchen, you can hear everything.

This home is as advertised and provides an excellent opportunity to getaway and relax. We had a great time enjoying the quiet and serenity, and took advantage of the nearby mountains and ski towns. The hosts were also quick to respond and provided a turnkey experience. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a great stay at this modern and well appointed cabin offering immersive experience in the mountain. The house is very well designed, both architecturally and functionally. Great hosting via messaging, providing the code for the key lock box and clear instructions and tips for arrival, departure and in between. The visit was smooth and easy. Treats included the heated concrete floors, beautiful window views, and comfortable furniture with sophistication. The kitchen is well equipped with high quality basics. A few downsides - we were disappointed to be barred from using the wood stove despite the roaring fire in the photo, the place is not suitable for people with dog allergy, the basement rooms are a bit musty/dank, the septic tank seemed to have trouble and left a lingering smell in bathrooms, and the kitchen hood did not work for us. Even so, we loved staying here and would definitely return if/when we have a chance.

Overall great. Perfect for a ski weekend - close to major ski resorts (esp. Stratton), some good restaurants and markets. Beautiful private location, nice interior design/furnishings, and sauna and fireplace were great amenities. Only small quibbles if you are cooking - the cookware/cutlery was pretty meh quality and there wasn't quite enough dishware for a group of six to get through the day without doing dishes.

The house had some fun amenities like an old school nintendo, puzzles and board games. The fireplace was by far the easiest to operate we've ever used and made great fires that kept the house very warm!

Nice alternative to the usual places on Stratton Mtn. Love the intimate town of Jamaica...just be prepared for navigating muddy roads to the Mtn. Lauren and Chris were at my fingertips at the click of a button which is reassuring when one is deep in the VT woods! This was my second year staying at the house and I'll definitely be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Green Mountain Modern House. The house looks majestic when lit up at night, and the floor-to-ceiling windows provide amazing light during the day. The house was well stocked, and there is a book on the TV credenza that answers any questions one might have. The fireplace adds extra coziness, and we loved playing the many games they have in the credenza. As for the location, it is a 15-minute drive to Stratton Mountain. Lauren and Chris were kind enough to let us extend our checkout time when our group was running late on the last morning. Our whole group is thinking about coming back in the fall for another cozy weekend away!

My family and I stayed the weekend so we could ski at Mt Snow and Stratton. We got rained out at Mt Snow so they let us check into the house 2 hours early which was nice. The home is as described. It was very clean and the check in process was super easy. The house is close to Stratton so that was very nice the next day when we went skiing. One of the nights it was snowing and it really would have been nice to have a fire in the wood burning stove, but this is not allowed. We knew this ahead of time, but that wood stove just stares at you while you are sitting there saying "feed me". But really the only negative we had to say is that if you like to sleep in (which a bunch of us did), bring an eye mask, because there are no blinds or curtains on any of the upstairs bedroom windows. When the sun comes up, its daylight in those rooms. We loved the game room in the basement and we cooked some delicious meals in the well appointed kitchen. We highly recommend the house. It was wonderful.

A very cozy space in the woods, with a surprising amount of amenities around being fairly rural. Travel there was pretty easy (coming from someone who is not used to snow!) and the scenery is incredible. The house was surprisingly warm with the wood stove going and the heated floors are a very nice touch. I would love to come back in the spring or summer.. I’m sure it’s even more breathtaking! The good- this property is unique and decorated cute with a good location near fun activities and a babbling brook. We snowshoed, skied, hiked and went snowmobiling. It has a well stocked kitchen with convection stove and toaster oven. The property provides plenty of firewood for a very easy to use stove that burns efficiently. The beds are comfortable and there is a cute store within a 5 minute drive.
The bad- there are no railings on either the upper or lower staircases. This will be difficult for the elderly or people with mobility issues. The upstairs loft bedroom is open to the downstairs so you will hear everything but stays warm from the stove downstairs. There are doors for privacy and there is a shared bath with the bunkbed room upstairs. There needs to be a step stool for short people to get into the cabinet in kitchen and tall people might bump thier heads on the low stove vent.

What a superb place to stay. Where do I even start, so much goodness about this house. Obviously it's super modern, but also really cozy. You actually don't feel like you are in the middle of the woods. The house was super clean and pretty much had anything and everything you need. Little tip when cooking in the kitchen, watch the glass that hangs over the stove we were concussed a few times 🙂
The house is right up the street from a great little market called D & K's. You can pretty much get anything you need there. The home is also about a 15 minute ride to Stratton Mountain as well.

We enjoyed our stay at the Green Mountain Modern House. The home was very comfortable and cozy (our stay was during the winter and it was cold out!). The kitchen was well stocked with plates, utensils and pots and pans. The beds were extremely comfortable. The big screen TV's were also great. The open floor plan allows family members to be in the same space, but not feel crowded. The home is very close to Jamaica, VT and in the town a few things we enjoyed were: D&K Store, Change Yoga (hot yoga) and the Workhorse Cafe. There wasn't much snow during our stay, so we didn't get to snowboard as much as we would have liked. However, we did spend a day at Stratton and a day at Mount Snow snowboarding. We explored Manchester where we would highly recommend the Northshire Book Store. The Stratton Escape Room was a fun family activity. We recommend the Solo Farm & Table restaurant for dinner (suggest making reservations). We hiked along the river at the Jamaica State Park which was a beautiful trail (though somewhat icy due to the weather).

The house was already equipped with everything we might need and the hosts, Lauren and Chris, gave enough notice prior to check-in in terms of anything else we might need. One of them must work in branding because everything from the house manual to local brochures were branded as the house itself. The space was clean, minimalistic and super comfortable. As the organizer of the trip I was somewhat prepared, my guests were floored! Lauren and Chris have many new referrals and return guests coming their way!

The house has more than enough space for multiple guests and is very pet friendly. We love the radiant heat floors and the sauna. It felt like we were at our own spa. Check-in was hassle free and the complimentary local beers were a nice surprise! Communication was fast and hosts went out of their way to help us get situated. The welcome book had all the essential information once could want about the house and the local area. We would gladly visit again!

Fun, modern Airbnb close to Stratton. Everything was clean, comfortable and well stocked. This Airbnb seemed overpriced to our group. The downstairs bedroom is very unappealing and has a noisy machine in the closet and concrete floors. There is no bathroom on that level, so have to walk upstairs in middle of night. The main bedroom and bunk room upstairs share a bathroom. So for the price, this really doesn’t sleep comfortably for a group.

This place was great. It was secluded in the Green Mountain National Forest and the house had very rustic views of the woods. It was a bit buggy in the summer, but it’s in the woods after all! The towns nearby are very charming and there are a lot of places to hike.

A gorgeous house in a gorgeous location! We spent a week at the Green Mountain Modern House and found it to be a great place to hang out, and to explore the area from. The hosts were both very responsive, courteous, and attentive. We had some very hot weather and enjoyed the proximity to Pikes Falls. We'll be back!

I brought some of my closest friends and our pups to celebrate my 30th birthday and I have NO regrets. We had the best time playing in the river, having a little fire while the pups played outside, and playing games in the basement. My favorite memories are collecting rocks from the river, going over to Manchester to eat the best french toast at Up For Breakfast and stroll endlessly in Northshire Bookstore, and spending every morning drinking tea on the front porch.

This house is an oasis. The stream across the way
This house is an oasis. The stream across the way makes the most soothing sound and on a clear night you can see the Milky Way ribbon and, if you're lucky like us, a half-dozen shooting stars. The three beds are comfy, the kitchen is highly functional and the living room is quite pleasant and open. And bonus: just down the road is a remarkable grocery store and a fantastic sandwich shop. Lauren and Chris provide a map that leads to choice vistas and swimming holes. Nearby Hamilton Falls is one of the most - if not the most - beautiful swimming holes I've ever been to.

We had a great stay at the Green Mountain Modern House! The place was clean, modern, and had everything we needed—especially in the kitchen, which was fully stocked with nice gadgets. The EV charger was a big plus since the closest Superchargers are pretty far. The house is tucked away in a quiet, peaceful spot, perfect for getting away from it all, but still has all the tech comforts like Starlink internet and the EV charger, so you’re not totally off the grid. Really enjoyed our time here! Thanks!

My family and I wanted a secluded getaway to recharge from remote working & learning due to the pandemic. It is hard to find a place that is high end with an abundance of amenities while also being pet-friendly. The Green Mountain Modern House fit the bill perfectly. We never needed to stray far from home because the kitchen and pantry were well stocked and we were across from a shallow babbling stream. We spent our days reading and lounging on the deck, climbing rocks on the stream and making s'mores in the firepit. There was a grocery store and awesome burger place just a 15 minute drive away. We spent one day doing a 5 mile hike to Lye Brook Falls and then having dinner outdoors at a fabulous tex mex place, Gringo Jack's.
Vermont is beautiful in the summer and it's mellow vibe was just what our family needed. The hosts were thorough in their communication and very quick to respond to inquires. We cannot wait to return.

The green mountain modern home is every bit as nice as the photos show. Modern, comfortable, and relaxing. The amenities were great, as was communication and support from the owners. For a dog-friendly home, it was very clean and furnishings were nice.
We enjoyed exploring and splashing around in Ball Mountain Brook across the road, and venturing up the road to the falls. In winter, I'd imagine it's proximity to Stratton Mtn is fantastic (close enough to be there in 15 min, far enough to have a little quiet space).
It's an easy bike ride to the very small town of Jamaica, or a little farther drive to Rawsonville (small store and restaurant in each). Note - neither have a sizeable grocery store though, so if you are preparing for an extended stay and like to cook, I'd recommend stopping for supplies on the drive in.

Coming from Boston, we were excited to escape the light and noise of the city and this corner of Vermont certainly delivered! We enjoyed splashing in the brook across the road each day, with bigger dips at pikes falls and Jamaica state park. Our kids loved the basement and the games, as well as raspberry picking at Dutton farm. And our dog was delighted by all the sniffs and spots to explore around the garden. Vermont is so dog friendly! Despite some plumbing issues we had a great visit, the hosts were super helpful and responsive, and overall we loved our stay here!

Really special place. It’s a modern cabin that is secluded so you get your privacy with a creek right across the road! Few min drive to a great coffee shop and local grocery store. So many things to do nearby or a short drive away. (hiking, farmers market, waterfalls, etc) It was a dream!

This was a really unique stay--a very interesting design and a beautiful location near the river. The house was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had plenty of tools but not too many consumable supplies such as spices and oils so I'd recommend bringing those. I did not have much contact with the owner. We really enjoyed hiking and swimming at Jamaica State Park.

This place was absolutely stunning! The sauna was so relaxing for your muscles, as was the wonderful jacuzzi tub! Both of the showers were great for those of you who are like me and love a nice, relaxing shower. The beds were very comfortable which was a nice little surprise. The fire pit was great to sit around and chat, and the upstairs is nice and open. We didn’t have any children on the trip but I guarantee children would love how open the space is!! The scenery around Jamaica is very pretty, the house is on a gorgeous river that is so fun to explore and sit around. Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a unique place to unwind in the house and enjoy nature!

Lauren and Chris's place was magnificent! The town of Jamaica, Vermont is quaint and charming. It's a scenic, 4.5 hour drive from Brooklyn. The Green Mountain Modern House, is directly across from a stream with rocks. It's quiet and peaceful. The house was spacious enough for 6 people and a dog. The top floor has two comfortable bedrooms that share a bathroom with shower and tub. The third bedroom has a bit more rustic cabin feel. It's in the basement (which has an another exit) and ideal for dogs. We primarily all hung out in the open concept kitchen and living room. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the culinary needs. "D& K's Grocery" store about a 5 minute drive from the house. It has everything you can imagine, from freshly baked pies to local cheese's and meats. At night, the outdoor fire pit was an enjoyable place to sit around and gaze at the stars. I'm already thinking about when we can get back to Vermont and stay again. Thank you, Lauren + Chris.

Great place to get away from it all and recharge in the simplicity of the design. Spend some time in the sauna, around the fire pit, or enjoying a cup of coffee as you listen to the river and birds in the morning sun. This location is great for a couple or for a larger group looking to recharge and slow down. With two queen bedrooms and a room with a bunk bed there is room for all.

With ease, I declare this place a gold standard for Airbnb. It was clean, organized, well-stocked, and has unique views of the brook that if viewed right, almost looks like it flows into the home. The first night, a few of us took a walk and had fun navigating with no moonlight. In our group of 6 (and an infant) everyone found something to do during the rainy days and we all had a great time. There was a bike race one day and seeing the racers pass by ruined the privacy I was expecting, but that has nothing to do with the home. On our last day, the weather cleared up and we were able to get a fire going outside and enjoy the sunlight. A few of us hit the sauna, then took a dip in the river. When the sun set, we were thrilled to have such amazing views of the stars. Living in Boston, it’s sometimes easy to forget the stars are just above us. I enjoyed the smaller details too, like complimentary coffee, snacks, and impressively printed post cards of the house under the stars.

We were a bit concerned that the cabin is on the main road, but it's VT and we only noticed possibly 3 or 4 cars driving by during our 4 days there. There were only 3 of us (including our pup) so there was ample space to be out of either other's way. Hosts are very responsive to questions. Will be looking forward to booking again in the future.

The Green Mountain Modern House was absolutely amazing! We couldn't be more enamored with the beautiful architecture, beautiful touches (a bouquet of wildflowers on the table!), and the location. My kids spent all day every day, even in the rain, across the road climbing on the rocks, finding little orange salamanders, and throwing sticks into the little waterfalls. All of them said that they never wanted to leave. I didn't either. We will definitely be back for more visits. Thanks so much for the amazing stay!

We stayed at the end of the season and had a rainy weekend so we didn’t end up skiing but enjoyed the house and surrounding towns. We did an escape room nearby which was really fun and well done. The local general stores are really charming and have a good selection of VT specialties. We befriended the local “Kiwi” transplant at Ungrounded Coffee Roasters which has some amazing coffee! Across the street is Honeypie which had great burgers, shakes, and fries. Everything was definitely worth the trip!

The only two drawbacks I can think of are AC not working properly so it is hot when sun’s out, and the grill was heavily used and uncleaned so we bought a one ourselves. However, those didn’t affect much on the overall experience and I will still recommend this place to others. I’ll give 4.9/5.0 and will return if there’s a chance.

We really loved staying here for a week in late May. The location is great: a quick drive to town yet secluded and quiet. We availed ourselves of the many opportunities for hiking within an hour's drive (Merck Forest, Baker Peak, Stratton Pond, Equinox Mountain). Thanks to the well-outfitted kitchen and the nearby grocery stores, we enjoyed cooking every day. Thanks again for a perfect stay, Lauren and Chris!

Only one thing to note: if you love to cook and you are above 5‘7“ you will certainly hit your head on the vent that protrudes a few inches beyond the cooktop, I started cooking from the side.
Other than that it’s an incredible space that’s both comfortable, cozy and dramatic.

We loved our stay with the Wildwood Collective. The property was beautiful and provided a perfect cozy getaway. Instructions/welcome manual were detailed and helpful. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils so that we could easily cook dinner and enjoy more time at the property. Appreciated that there was plenty of firewood available to enjoy the wood stove. We spent some time in Manchester while visiting, which had a cute downtown. The walking trails there were nice and the Northshire Bookstore was very cool! Would recommend a visit there. And would love to stay at another Wildwood Collective property in the future.

A fabulous choice for a remote stay in the woods of southwestern VT! The cabin and yard is gorgeous. Very comfortable primary bed. All kitchen appliances and the outside fire pit furniture all seemed brand new.

Excellent stay in a modern home in a private location across a wonderful river. The property is well positioned only 10 mins from Stratton and 20 from surrounding mountains. Excellent hiking along the river is a 5 min drive and everything you need is nearby.
Beds were comfy and house was warm with efficient heating system or wood stove. Kitchen has mostly everything you need, just pack the fridge! Sauna is a great touch for after a workout or skiing.
We love this place and have rented it for the near future. Enjoy!

The house is spacious and airy, fantastic location close to hiking trails, the cute little town and lots of other outdoor activists. There’s plenty of space for a romantic weekend or a house full of family and friends, including a basement with fun games for everyone. We can’t wait to visit again.

My family and I had such a lovely time at Lauren and Chris's. The floors were warm (!) and it was a really cozy and modern space. Also, it is in such a beautiful location. Right next to a creek! L and C were easy to connect with and responded quickly to all of our questions.

My second stay at the cabin and I was again impressed by the place and area. We love Vermont and this is the perfect spot if you are keen on skiing in Stratton or just want to chill for the weekend. It’s such a unique place filled with everything you need. Definitely don’t forget to go to the North Country General Store. A true jewel right on tor doorstep. Great craft beer, coffee and food. Green Mountain Modern House is the most unique spot in the area. The interior is super clean and has a very modern design. Once you arrive, you won’t want to leave.

NB: the lofted upstairs bedroom can get rather warm by the end of a day with a fire going - but opening the windows from some cross- ventilation on the upper floor cools things down quickly.

We stayed at the Green Mountain House for 4 nights
We stayed at the Green Mountain House for 4 nights over Thanksgiving. It was perfect for our family of three (plus one labradoodle). Everything was made easy.
Check-in was easy, the house was clean, and we arrived to find 2 cold beers in the fridge. We definitely enjoyed the wood-burning stove (the best!) -- and the open kitchen made cooking fun (the turkey even fit in the oven!). There were a few extra amenities like aluminum foil, spices and cleaning supplies provided, which was a nice touch. Only 2 miles away is a little country store, which had everything else we needed. We loved all the local hikes, especially walking along the river at Jamaica State Park (which we did twice -- once with snow and once without).
Tips: If you stay in the winter, bring slippers and a bathrobe to make yourself more cozy.
There are 3 bedrooms, but note the master bedroom upstairs is open to the living room below, so it is tricky if you want to go to bed earlier than other guests. The kids bedroom with bunk beds, however, is toward the back had a door so the kiddos could go to sleep earlier. The stairs were surprisingly steep and slippery, and there was no hand-railing, so I felt a bit nervous going up and down. The steep stairs plus the catwalk make the house less friendly to toddlers. We didn't use the basement space very much; it was a bit dark (as a typical basement), and the downstairs bedroom was a bit depressing with the constant hum of the humidifier or heater. But, with just three of us, we spent the vast majority of our time on the main floor so it didn't bother us at all.
We definitely would come back again; perhaps in the summer to enjoy the river across the road and the outdoor space.

We’ve been trying to visit the Green Mountain House and we’re so happy we finally did. The amenities are so comfortable and offered the right vibe for our Thanksgiving hiking vacation. The closest trails were a 10 min drive which we loved and the grocery store down the road had everything we needed. The house sauna was such a hit after hiking and the kitchen was complete with everything we needed to make our meals. We had such a relaxing time and are so grateful to our host. Thank you so so much.

My family and I (2 adults and 2 8yr olds) spent 3 nights at this wonderful home. It had everything we needed and was a good home base for all of the areas we wanted to see on the trip. The house looks just like it does in the pictures and it was super comfortable and welcoming. Everything was clean and well apportioned. We would highly recommend this as a place to stay for sure. It is a bit far from most things, although Stratton was only around 12 mins away and there was a phenomal market 5 mins down the road. Thanks so much for a great stay!

We had a great 4-night stay at this cabin during the fall. The place is large and spacious and filled with modern amenities which are perfect if you want to cook meals as we did. In fact we didn't even use the space downstairs; it would be perfect for a small group of 2 or 3 couples.
Location was good for taking scenic drives or for long bike rides around the hills. We came prepared with enough food for our stay so can't comment on grocery shopping, but we did stop in to a decent-sized local farm co-op nearby which would cover most items. We could gently hear the river flowing in the evening which was relaxing. The road did have occasional traffic driving by but it was not constant.
Overall a great place for a few days away in the hills!

We stayed for 5 nights at the Green Mountain Modern
We stayed for 5 nights at the Green Mountain Modern House in early-mid October. The setting of the house cannot be beat during this time of year! The property is surrounded by beautiful fall foliage, the stream across the street provides peaceful sounds and the stars at night are truly magical. We had one nice sunny day with temperatures in the upper 70s during our stay and our dog thoroughly enjoyed a romp in the stream.
The house itself was very clean. The kitchen was a joy to cook in (I especially loved the well-seasoned cast iron pans!!). We also appreciated having the washer and dryer since we packed light and needed to do laundry mid-trip.
One thing to note is that the master bedroom is in a loft area, with no walls separating it from the main living area below except for some curtains. The pictures in the listing do show this, but it didn't register for me how the room was set up until I showed up in person. This wasn't an issue for us since it was just me, my husband, and our dog. For those that care about privacy, this is something to note.
All in all, we had a great stay. We didn't need to contact Chris and Lauren at all during our stay, as they left very detailed instructions in their guidebook. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. We'd love to come back again during a different season in the future!

I visited the Green Mountain Modern House in October and had an amazing time. The foliage was beautiful and loved spending time admiring the river on the other side of the road. The house is perfectly nestled off of a quiet road in the woods but still a super quick drive to town and the ski resorts. Really enjoyed connecting with the local shop owners. The house itself is beautiful, clean, and really well put together.

Every time I would interact a “quirky” thing in the house like not figuring out how to lock the front door, I could refer back to the house manual which addressed how to do it. The kitchen and living room are stunning. We spent most of our time in the house since we were working remotely and the house and had perfect pockets for all of us to take meetings from. Would love to visit again.

This place is a dream!! If you are thinking about booking it, don't hesitate a second longer and book it! The location is perfectly secluded, right next to a river and in the National Forest, and is just a short drive from the nearby town! The house itself was incredible! The kitchen was a dream to cook in, the living room was the perfect spot to hangout in, and the bedrooms are super cozy. This is the ultimate hangout place, I would love to come back soon!

The Green Mountain Modern House was EVERYTHING we hoped for in a Vermont retreat! The home is just as beautiful as in the photos -- we could hardly tear ourselves away even to explore the beautiful area. The open living space is perfect for a group of friends or family to lounge, cook, play games (included in the house! :)), watch TV, everything. Lots of great games in the basement as well, and the grill outside -- really you could spend so much time there and never want to leave.
The bedrooms and bathrooms were well-stocked, convenient, clean, with great high quality appliances. All the amenities were wonderful, from the great bath products to the sauna, Jacuzzi tub, fluffy white towels, etc. We had no needs that weren't provided for.
Lauren and Chris were very responsive and helpful, and provide both a guide to the house, as well as manuals for the appliances in the kitchen. We had plenty of suggestions for things to do in the area, and particularly loved D&K's grocery store (you HAVE to try one of their homemade pies!!) and the tips that we got from Karen.

The house is located in a beautiful secluded area with a small river just across the street. Lauren And Chris shared useful tips in advance and were easy to communicate with. Green Mountain Modern House was in a super location and was an awesome place to get away for the week. Kitchen was well equipped and the overall space was well designed. While it's best suited for a family of four, it's also a great space for two people. We loved being so close to the river as well as driving distance to excellent hiking (and in the winter, skiing) options. Hosts were generous with their recommendations and communication and we would highly recommend them and the house to anyone!

The house is gorgeous! We came here for a ladies weekend (with doggies) and it was perfect. Location is really close to a number of trails and a beautiful drive up. House was super clean, had all the tools to cook dinner, and the hosts were really responsive when we failed hilariously at turning on the AC (our fault entirely). The hosts included a really helpful manual for the surrounding area with great recommendations. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful getaway.

Our stay at the Green Mountain Modern House was unlike any other. The house lived up to the expectation and images online: nestled on a remote road next to a creek abutting stunning mountains. The decor and design of the house were amazing and made us feel right at home, cozy and comfortable. The arrival, check-in process, and amenities lived up to what was promised online. The sauna, firepit, and wood burning stove were amazing additions to the ambiance, and really made for a perfect staycation for our anniversary, and our dog felt right at home, probably more than the humans who traveled with him! The location was also as promised, close to hiking, breweries, and adorable downtowns. The communication from Wildwood leading up to our stay was perfect, with a house manual that explained in detail the intricacies of the house, including the alarm, sauna, and firepits. The check-out processes worked just as promised. We can't wait to stay at another one of Wildwood's properties in the future!

Lauren and Chris's home was amazing and they thought of everything. So many of the little touches were great with the different magazines about Vermont and the area and the welcome note! Would highly recommend this place if you are wanting to get away from the city and experience the back country of Vermont!

We had an amazing stay here after it was recommended by a friend! A wonderful private location. We explored the brook across the street, Pikes Falls, and a couple other fabulous spots along Ball Mountain Brook. The area is just magical. The hosts were very responsive. Amazing, relaxing vacation spot!

There is literally no comparison to this property. It's like being in Scandanavia. The location inside the Green Mountain National Forest is phenomenal. We had an incredible time hiking at nearby Stratton. The best part about Lauren & Chris's house is that it's dog friendly and has space for the whole family. It's one of the best AirBnBs we've ever stayed in. So many little details that really make it feel like home. We can't wait to come back and to go leaf peeping!

lauren & chris' modern cabin in the green state forest is beautiful and the perfect place to stay in the southern VT area. i can highly recommend staying there - the hosts lauren & chris were super friendly and provided numerous recommendations for the area. the modern cabin is a feast of design and nature meeting in the most amazing setting. the house has everything you need from the basics to an array of extras like the sauna, tv/game room and of course the BBQ area. i loved the open plan lounge and kitchen area, which had great views onto the river and mountain back drop. do not miss the cold brew at the north country general store! i would happily recommend this place and its get 10/10 from me. i will definitely be going back!

Great place to get away and relax! The cathedral windows in the main room and the front patio offer stunning afternoon sun and sunsets as you relax with your favorite beverage or prepare dinner. Sitting by the fire pit listening to the sound of the river with millions of stars above in the evening is tranquil and a world unto its self. By day, the location offers a lot of activities close by. The Google map provided by the Host showing what is available nearby is very helpful. I also recommend visiting The Lincoln Family Home in Manchester. The Host communication is timely, very responsive, and right amount. You have a sense the Host is available if you have any questions. The check-in/out information and instructions are clear and easy.
